Our Research Methodology
Experimental Studies
In the laboratory, we conduct comprehensive experimental studies on active tectonics, earthquakes and active faults. Using state-of-the-art equipment, we analyse fault lines and seismic activity to collect data on seismic waves and crustal movements.
- Fault movement and seismic wave measurements
- Surface deformation tests
- Analysis of past seismic activity of faults
Theoretical Modelling
Using computational models and theoretical approaches, we predict fault behaviour and tectonic changes in the Earth’s crust. We also model seismic and tectonic processes with finite-element and molecular-dynamics simulations.
- Earthquake risk and tectonic change simulations
- Structural analysis of fault lines
- Optimisation of crustal movements
